Business Analyst (SAS) 
  

We have a great opening for an experienced Business Analyst to join our busy Software team.


The Role:

You will have the opportunity to work with DRS’ pioneering electronic marking software used by major awarding bodies. This role would require a good understanding of DRS’ core product features and roadmap to ensure that the design of customisation solutions are optimal for the business. You would be working within a fast-paced environment with other Business Analysts, Product Managers, Software Developers and customers to understand product requirements and produce user stories to be used by the Product development team.

 

The Person: 
You would hold extensive experience in business analysis in a product-based environment where you would take the lead in collaborating with colleagues and other business stakeholders. You would be a great team player, who would bring in their knowledge of the software development lifecycle, ideally within an Agile environment, and experience of creating user stories. As a person, you would have excellent technical writing, communication and relationship building skills.



Assistant Project Manager (ESD) 

An exciting opportunity exists for a confident individual to join our team as an Assistant Project Manager. The e-Marking Service Delivery Team provides large scale solutions for examination processing and electronic marking.  With great planning skills and an eye for detail, the successful candidate will support the delivery of the examination series from initiation through to close down.


The Role:

As a valued member of the team you will provide support to the e-Marking Service Delivery Team, ensuring that business as usual activities are completed on time, to quality and budget. For the right candidate this is a development role; gaining experience by assisting the operational delivery team prior to taking ownership of a small project. You will prepare, distribute and oversee work packages as they are delivered. You will be responsible for daily monitoring and problem resolution; producing clear and concise reports when required.


The Person:

The successful candidate will be a well-organized, confident and flexible individual with experience in supporting or delivering projects who is ready to progress their career. You will have experience of updating RAID logs and be able to coordinate various departments to ensure that deadlines are met. Ideally you will be PRINCE2™ qualified with experience of working on large projects in a supporting role. Other relevant experience or qualifications will be considered. Previous experience in electronic marking or the education sector is not required. Overall, the right candidate will have a can-do attitude and be able to get the job done!

Software Developer 
 

We are looking to recruit a Software Developer who is at the start of their career and we will provide them with inhouse training opportunities for their development.


The Role: 

This role is ideal for a Software Developer who is eager to learn and develop within a team. You will be supporting the team with developing, building, and supporting desktop application solutions for our customers in the educational sector. You will be working within a team and engaging cooperatively with peers. The team also comprises of long serving, experienced Developers, who would be at hand to provide you with training, guidance and support in order to develop your skills even further.


The Person: 
If you can demonstrate experience in Microsoft's .NET Framework, Visual Studio (C#) and SQL Server, with experience of unit testing with NUnit, we would like to hear from you. Knowledge of SSRS and WCF / WPF and experience of working in an Agile environment would also be desirable. As a team player, you will need to be flexible and be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
