Continuous Improvement & Quality Manager (Bureau) 
  

The new role of Continuous Improvement and Quality Manager will be key in the delivery of Operational Excellence utilising continuous improvement processes and our core values of Inspiring, Clarity, Simplicity, Ingenuity and Together which are at the heart of everything we do. This role will be key in the delivery of our ambitions in this area, particularly in our Bureau Operations. 


The Role:

In this role you will be promoting Continuous Improvement methodologies, engaging key stakeholders across the business at all levels, strategic, tactical and operational. You will also assist in the development of best in class CI Programme across the Bureau. You will be required to develop and implement Quality management systems and quality metrics. You will be responsible for coaching, developing, training and supporting the Bureau team to deliver the change programme and CI methodology including tools, techniques and behaviours. Monitoring projects and foreseeing/identifying potential issues and proactively implementing solutions will also be an integral part of this role.

The person:
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years Continuous Improvement experience in similar role within large volume production/process cycles, a minimum Lean Six Sigma Green Belt with extensive knowledge of areas such as Kaizen, PDFF, Process Mapping, Visual Management and TAKT time / level loading / Heijunka. They will be required to demonstrate experience of implementing Lean Six principles with energy, passion and enthusiasm to drive real cultural change.


Business Analyst (SAS Department) 
  

We have a great opening for an experienced Business Analyst to join our busy Software team.


The Role:

You will have the opportunity to work with DRS’ pioneering electronic marking software used by major awarding bodies. This role would require a good understanding of DRS’ core product features and roadmap to ensure that the design of customisation solutions are optimal for the business. You would be working within a fast-paced environment with other Business Analysts, Product Managers, Software Developers and customers to understand product requirements and produce user stories to be used by the Product development team.

 

The Person: 
You would hold extensive experience in business analysis in a product-based environment where you would take the lead in collaborating with colleagues and other business stakeholders. You would be a great team player, who would bring in their knowledge of the software development lifecycle, ideally within an Agile environment, and experience of creating user stories. As a person, you would have excellent technical writing, communication and relationship building skills.



Senior Software Developer (SEA Department) 

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer with solid application development experience in Microsoft core technologies.


The Role:

As a Senior Software Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, building, and supporting solutions for our customers in the educational sector. You will also conduct peer reviews and act as a mentor to other department members.


The Person:

You will be a Senior Developer who has several years’ experience in a senior role and with the breadth of experience required to hit the ground running.

You will also require proven experience of coaching and mentoring Developers in your current or previous role. If you can demonstrate expert-level proficiency in Microsoft's .NET Framework, C#, and SQL Server, NUnit, VSTS, Git, and in an Agile environment we would like to hear from you. If you have experience of working in an Azure environment that would be an advantage.



Software Developer (SEA Department) 

We are looking for a Software Developer with experience in developing solutions within an Agile environment.


The role:

As a Software Developer you will be responsible for developing, building and supporting solutions for our customers in the educational sector. 


The person:

You will be a Developer who is ready to move to the next level, with the breadth of experience required to hit the ground running. You will be provided with mentoring and support from senior members of the team such that you can continually improve. 

If you have a high level of proficiency in Microsoft's .NET Framework, C#, and SQL Server, NUnit, VSTS, Git, and in an Agile environment we would like to hear from you.


Software Developer (SAS Department)
 

We are looking to recruit a Software Developer who is at the start of their career and we will provide them with inhouse training opportunities for their development.


The Role: 

This role is ideal for a Software Developer who is eager to learn and develop within a team. You will be supporting the team with developing, building, and supporting desktop application solutions for our customers in the educational sector. You will be working within a team and engaging cooperatively with peers. The team also comprises of long serving, experienced Developers, who would be at hand to provide you with training, guidance and support in order to develop your skills even further.


The Person: 
If you can demonstrate experience in Microsoft's .NET Framework, Visual Studio (C#) and SQL Server, with experience of unit testing with NUnit, we would like to hear from you. Knowledge of SSRS and WCF / WPF and experience of working in an Agile environment would also be desirable. As a team player, you will need to be flexible and be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.



Service Specialist / Operator (Bureau  Department)
 

An opportunity has arisen in our Bureau department for a Service Specialist to help us deliver our operational projects.


The Role:

The Service Specialist takes ownership of functional areas within the Bureau and is a key team member working on allocated customer jobs.  On a daily basis, you would be performing operational tasks as part of a service delivery team, working to agreed productivity, quality and Health and Safety standards. During busy projects, you would also be supervising a team of temporary staff members.


The Person:

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in working in a fast moving industrial environment and who enjoys this type of work. You may be required to work night shifts during peak processing times, dependent on business needs. You would require great attention to detail and ability to work under pressure. Supervisory experience is highly desirable.
