    DRS data capture technology utilises NASA space components

    The same photonics technology used in a number of NASA space missions is also used by British based data capture specialists, DRS in its range of Optical Mark Readers. The OMR scanners are designed and manufactured in DRS’ head office in Milton Keynes and are used to electronically capture data from forms by tens of thousands of educational, government, public and private sector establishments.

    Clear the headache of manual data entry - drop-in to the Police Data Capture Clinic!

    Public sector data capture specialist DRS, will be hosting an exclusive event and the first of its kind in the UK aimed at exploring and improving the issues surrounding data capture in the Police Service. The DRS Police Data Capture Health Clinic will take place between 09.30 and 12.00 on Wednesday 8th December at the prestigious Edinburgh Castle and will provide a forum for Police Forces to discuss, share and examine the process of gathering large amounts of structured data.

    DRS strengthens position in China with new Imaging scanners

    DRS can today confirm that it has received an order for five of its latest PhotoScribe® Image Scanning machines from Chinese distributor Guangdong Morning Star Co Ltd. Based in Guangzhou in the South East of the Peoples Republic of China, Morning Star provide distribution channels to the Chinese examinations and assessment markets, and its continued relationship with UK based data capture firm DRS, represents a solid commitment to the far eastern examinations market.

    DRS new Image scanning technology selected by Cameroon GCE Board

    DRS today announced that the Cameroon General Certificate of Education (GCE) Board has placed an order for the first ever PhotoScribe® PS900 scanner to be used in Africa. The PS900 is the latest in the range of DRS sophisticated data capture technology and will be used by the Cameroon GCE Board to not only record and process student registration forms, but also to capture high quality digital images of the registered students and ultimately help to prevent examination fraud and student impersonation.

    AQA and WJEC successfully pioneer DRS e-Marker® technology

    DRS e-Marker® technology has been successfully deployed for both WJEC and AQA summer exam papers. AS and GCSE papers have been marked using a combination of electronic marking from images and paper scripts, both of which have enabled the marks to be captured at home using examiners’ home PCs, ensuring results are more accurate and available much quicker.
