    AQA examiners pioneer e-Marker® technology

    Over 30 million marks from more than 2.5 million scripts were collected this summer using the full suite of e-Marker®, a sophisticated electronic marking solution provided by DRS, AQA’s technology partner. One of the exciting features of e-Marker® is that it enables candidates’ paper answer scripts to be presented as images on computer screens for examiners to mark.

    DRS e-Marker® usability wins over AQA examiners

    The recently launched electronic marking tool e-Marker® developed by UK data capture specialists DRS, has been met with a great deal of praise during its first operational use by the Assessment and Qualifications Alliance. AQA is the largest Unitary Awarding Body in the UK and is pioneering the use of e-Marker® to reduce the administrative burden of examination marking.

    Scottish Qualifications Authority modernise examination processing

    The Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) has announced that it has appointed data capture specialists, DRS to deploy its sophisticated Optical Mark Reading (OMR) and Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) technology for SQA examinations in Scotland. It will employ DRS to design, print and overprint National Qualifications objective test answer sheets and process them in its secure Bureau facility.
