The PhotoScribe® Series image mark readers not only process large volumes of forms, they allow you to apply multiple data capture options to the same form such as census forms, examination processing, voter registration and complex ballot counts:
- complex information and imaging - the process of accurately scanning and capturing photographs and other graphical images
- Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) to capture and interpret more complex information and imaging including hand written text, numbers and photographs
- Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for interpreting printed material
- Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) to capture multiple choice question data similar to that used on multiple choice examinations and lottery forms
- various barcode formats
Available as a network-ready or a standalone reader, the PhotoScribe® Series captures real-time data and images, including barcodes, during the scanning process. Unlike conventional imaging scanners or readers that produce an image from which data is later extracted, the PhotoScribe® Series has the ability to capture data in real-time and allow the correction of any errors during the scanning process rather than as a post-scanning activity.
