The Role:

In this key role, you will be developing our desktop and web applications for our customers in the educational sector. Working within a close-knit and long-serving team, engaging cooperatively with your peers, you will be able to share your experience and learn about our unique products.

The person:

If you can demonstrate experience in Microsoft's .NET Framework, Visual Studio (C#) and SQL Server, with experience of unit testing with NUnit, we would like to hear from you. Knowledge of Azure, DevOps, SSRS, WPF, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript would also be desirable. Having a passion for technology, you would be eager to develop your skills further and bring innovative ideas to the team.

Scanning Centre Managers (2 positions)

We are looking to strengthen the management team at our new Scanning Facility. These roles will report to the Head of Operations and work together with the wider management team to deliver Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence and support our ambitious growth plans.

The Role:

As a Scanning Centre Manager, along with your counterpart, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the Scanning Centre operations, ensuring that script processing is delivered to the correct quality standard in line with agreed budgets and SLAs. You will lead your team through significant volume peaks, in particular, the Summer GCSE and GCE series when we have an additional circa 500 temporary staff working with us. Outside volume series, you will be involved in planning, coordinating and project activities in relation to continuous improvement in delivery and supporting the company strategy and mission and drive for operational excellence.

The person:

You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) with a good knowledge of large-scale, time-critical, logistically challenging operations. Positive and enthusiastic with high levels of commitment to delivering excellent customer experience coupled with the ability to remain calm under pressure, you will lead your teams to share your passion for delivering results that enable people to achieve their dreams. You will be a confident decision maker, always basing decisions on sound analysis and detailed understanding of the implications, even in cases where you have limited time or information. Your approach to work will be curious with a passion to understand the operation and continually look for ways to do things better, inspiring your teams to follow your lead.

Business Analysts (2 positions)

We are looking to recruit 2 experienced Business Analysts to join our busy Software team.

The Role:

You will have the opportunity to work with DRS’ pioneering electronic examination marking software used by major awarding bodies. This role will require a good understanding of DRS’ core product features and roadmap to ensure that the design of customised solutions are optimal for the business. Working within a fast-paced environment with other Business Analysts, Product Managers, Software Developers and customers, you will be required to understand our products and document new requirements as user stories to be used by the Product development team.

The person:

With extensive experience in business analysis in a product-based environment, you will collaborate with colleagues and other business stakeholders. You will be able to share with the team, your knowledge of the software development lifecycle, ideally within an Agile environment, and your experience of creating user stories. Excellent technical writing, communication and relationship building skills are also key to this role.
